Geography of Lake Glumsø

Lake Glumsø lies directly to the south of the town of Glumsø in southwest Zealand.

The lake covers a total area of 25.4 hectares. The lake is 2.1 metres deep at its deepest point, with an average depth of 1.3 metres. The total water volume of the lake is 330,000 cubic metres.

The lake is fed by water from the stream Kølebækken in its northwest corner, as well as from two smaller streams on its eastern shoreline. Water flows out of the lake via Telemarksgrøften at its southern end.

The catchment area of the lake covers 448 hectares. Most of this land (243 hectares) consists of cultivated land while built-up areas account for 102 hectares. The remainder constitutes woodland (41 hectares), wetland areas (23 hectares) and other land types (39 hectares).
